Austin's favorite street meets Austin's favorite party. First Thursdays at South Congress Hotel is our signature monthly event that features a live performance by an up-and-coming local act, DJs throughout our spaces, drink specials, pop-up activations and more.
This Austin tradition runs deep: on the first Thursday of every month, businesses along South Congress Avenue historically kept their doors open late and banded together to celebrate the essence of Austin — a celebration of local music, art and culture. Since we opened in September 2015, we've kept the festivities going and highlighted what makes our city special. We're proud that Austin's local music community has been represented on our stage with bands like The Black Pumas, CAPYAC, and The Peterson Brothers all joining the First Thursday lineup.
First Thursday will return on May 7, 2026 with a live performance and DJ sets by all over the hotel.
SCH’s signature monthly event is free + open to all. 21+ only. Good times brought to you by our partners Deep Eddy Vodka + Ilegal Mezcal + powered by WERD. We’re proud to be partying for a good cause for the fourth year in a row: a portion of drink sales will be donated to help support our friend at the SIMS Foundation and their support of our local Austin music community all night long.
